Oil and transmission fluid changed. Investigated creaking noise from the suspension - no play in any components so hard to say. Fords for your time.

Anyone else have an impossible time checking their oil level? The dip stick in the G35 goes in on an angle and it’s guaranteed to smear on its way out. Cannot get a good reading so had to measure how much oil drained out. Shit like this is why a 1-hr job ends up taking way more. Regarding suspension: Creaks at low speed going over small bumps. Forums say it’s not the strut/shock itself but I went over all the joints and boots and nothing is torn and there’s no play. I will be replacing the struts in the future anyway but not sure if it’ll fix the noise.

POS mobile Kinja won’t let me add multiple pics in a post in order. Always adds new ones to the top. Sick a duck, Kinja.

Try checking both sides of the dipstick, not just the side with the markings. That’s how I check transmission fluid after filling through the dipstick tube. That smearing can really mess with the reading.

Last winter, I believe I had compression rod bushing noise (creaking) when it got really really cold outside. Hasn’t happened again since that time.

I guess it did start happening not too long ago but our winter has been really mild. And I actually only hear that noise when I’m leaving my underground garage where, generally speaking, it’s rather warm. Compression rods are tight and ... well I dunno what it can be. Maybe it’s the damn spring itself?

I’d only hear mine creak when approaching and stopping on banked entrances/exits. The compression rods are known for going dry apparently.
